Development

The script

Selected screenplays enter a focused development phase before any production begins.

Once a screenplay is selected, we work closely with the writer — and director, if they are attached — to prepare the script for production. This is not development as delay. It is development as precision.

We identify what the film needs structurally, logistically, and creatively before a single euro is spent on production. We handle all pre-production administration — contracts, clearances, crew and location research — while the filmmaker focuses on the work itself.

Production

Minimum

The floor, not the ceiling. Every selected film is produced to professional standard — without exception.

YESYES finances and physically produces every selected film. A minimum budget of €50,000 per project — supplemented by Austrian and EU grant funding through YESYES GmbH — ensures that no production compromise has to be made for financial reasons.

Professional crew. Proper shooting schedules. Real equipment. The filmmaker's only job on set is to direct.

Post-Production

Ready for

best screens.

Every film leaves us finished to the technical specification of the most demanding festival circuits in the world.

Post-production is handled entirely in-house by the YESYES team. Colour grading, sound design, mix, and DCP mastering — all completed to the exact technical requirements of Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Sundance, and Toronto.

The filmmaker remains closely involved in the creative decisions of post while YESYES manages all the technical and logistical overhead. Nothing leaves without being right.

Festival & Distribution

Festival submission is a strategy, not an afterthought. We treat every film as if it could win.

YESYES manages the full festival strategy for every film — identifying the right circuit, preparing press materials, and submitting strategically to maximise the chance of selection. We attend the festivals we submit to. We make introductions. We actively pursue distribution.

The filmmaker's relationship with their film does not end when the edit is locked. With YESYES, it continues through the entire festival life of the work — and into its distribution and streaming afterlife.

Week 1
Submission Opens
The call is announced. Screenwriters submit their scripts via yesyes.world/submit. The submission window remains open for 8–12 weeks.
Week 1–12
Reading Period
Every submitted screenplay is read in full by the YESYES selection team. No automated filtering. No first-page cuts.
Week 12–14
Selection & Responses
All writers receive a response. Selected screenplays are contacted to begin the development conversation. Unselected writers receive a personalised note.
Month 4–5
Development & Pre-Production
Script refinement, director attachment, crew assembly, location scouting, budgeting, and all legal and administrative preparation.
Month 6–7
Principal Photography
The film is shot. YESYES handles all production logistics. The filmmaker concentrates entirely on directing.
Month 8–10
Post-Production
Edit, colour grade, sound design, mix, and DCP mastering. The filmmaker works closely with the YESYES post team through every creative decision.
Month 11–12
Festival Submission
Strategic submission to the international festival circuit begins. Press materials prepared. Distribution outreach initiated.
Month 12+
World Premiere
The film enters the world. YESYES continues to support its festival life, distribution negotiations, and the filmmaker's next project.
